ANIMINA, Geek Awards
Currently, we are in Miner Street Studios with Brian McTear, recording ANIMINA, the follow up to The Empty Air. ANIMINA will be our second GPS controlled iPhone application and will begin at 2nd and Race Streets in Philadelphia, heading all the way down to the Race Street Pier. We chose this area because of recent pushes by the city and the Delaware River Water Corporation to revitalize the waterfront in this area (with the building of the Pier, new sidewalks/lighting/landscaping/arts programming, etc. We are excited at the opportunity to bring people to this oft-overlooked section of town that is rapidly becoming a destination. Adding to this pull will be the opening of the new FringeArts (formerly Live Arts and Philly Fringe) building on the corner of Race and Columbus Blvd. ANIMINA will be released in early October, and will be featured in the opening of the building.
And, our first application, The Empty Air, was nominated for a Philly Geek Award for Mobile App of the Year. The awards ceremony hosted by the blog Geekadelphia is August 17th, and we will be sure to let you know how things shake out. If you haven’t already, be sure to stroll over to Rittenhouse Square experience the app for yourself. Most people we encounter think is was a passing experience, but the app is online and ready for download here right now, and will be until there is no longer an internet.
